Sicilian Fig-Stuffed Cookies Recipe
Cuccidati is the name of Sicilian fig-stuffed cookies traditionally served at Christmas time Louanne of Louanne's Kitchen shows us what love and passion for cookies, especially Christmas cookies, are. If you love dried figs and dates, you will love the cookies. Louanne's (adapted) recipe also includes crystallized ginger, orange marmalade, strawberry preserves, and pineapple preserves. Annie of Annie's Art Book generously shares with us her mother's recipe. Ingredients feature honey (of a considerable amount) and spices: cinnamon, ground cloves, ginger, and nutmeg. When I saw the recipe and its ingredients and the photos of the cookies, I wanted to say to the world, "life is so sweet, so lovely." Anne also shares the instructions for transforming this recipe into various kinds of cookies perfect for holidays.

Of course, you will see ground almonds as the first ingredient.
