Absolutely an art. I don't know why but this idea of cookie decorating reminds me of expressionism art.
You can see how easy it is to make Santa Claus design-cookies from sugar cookies and edible decorative items. Red jelly for Santa's hat. Two bright blue sprinkles for Santa's eyes. A chocolate sprinkle for Santa's lips. A generous amount of white icing on each cookie for Santa's face, hair (of which his ears are buried in), and beard (of which his nose is buried in).
The kids will be more than delighted to help you decorate these cookies.
